Rules of the Avondvierdaagse Oog in Al
The Avondvierdaagse in the Oog in Al neighbourhood in Utrecht (hereinafter referred to as the A4D) is organised by the Stichting Avond4daagse Oog in Al (hereinafter referred to as the organisation) and is held under the auspices of the KWBN walking sports organisation.
- The A4D is a walking achievement event with no competitive element. Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
- Registration takes place solely in the manner and under the conditions determined by the organisation.
- Registration is strictly personal and non-transferable. If a participant decides not to take part, there is no right to a refund of the registration fee.
- The distance to be walked and the reward to be earned are likewise strictly personal and non-transferable.
- Starting the walking route is only permitted once in possession of a stamp card. This is handed to the participant the day before the start, for example in the participant's classroom or, in the case of late registration, at the start desk, and once the starting signal has been given where applicable.
- Race walking and moving at a running pace are not permitted during the A4D.
- Participants in the A4D are deemed to be capable of the activity and can never hold the organisation liable for sports injuries resulting from their participation.
- Participants who need to receive special medication or provisions in case of an emergency or calamity are obliged to carry these with them in the form of a medical passport that is clearly visible to emergency services.
- Participants who are minors must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian, or by a parent or guardian of another participant to whom this responsibility has actively been transferred.
- Overtaking is only permitted if it does not cause any inconvenience to other participants.
- Bringing pets (dogs) along during the A4D is permitted provided they are kept on a lead and do not pose a danger or nuisance to other participants.
- Participants must follow the route indicated for them.
- During the A4D, participants are not permitted to:
- behave or dress in an offensive manner;
- carry loudly playing radios;
- cause destruction, damage or injury;
- be outside the indicated roads and/or paths;
- leave litter anywhere other than in the bins provided for that purpose.
- Instructions from the organisation, the police, traffic marshals and other staff must be followed. The Dutch Road Traffic Act 1994 (Wegenverkeerswet 1994) and the Traffic Rules and Signs Regulations 1990 (Reglement Verkeersregels en Verkeerstekens 1990) remain fully in force during the A4D, unless expressly indicated otherwise.
- By registering, the participant further agrees to the possible use by the organisation of their personal details and/or their likeness in print, in photos, film, video and the like, for promotional or informational purposes relating to the A4D, without any compensation being claimable for this.
- The organisation is in no way responsible or (financially) liable for accidents and/or illness of participants or for damage to or loss of belongings.
- The organisation reserves the right to change the route, the start and/or finish times and/or locations, or to cancel the A4D in whole or in part on the grounds of extreme weather conditions or other calamities, where the organisation cannot reasonably be expected to act otherwise. In that case there is no right to a refund of the registration fee.
- In all cases not provided for by these rules, the organisation decides.
- By registering for the A4D, the participant declares that they are familiar with and agree to the provisions laid down by or pursuant to these rules.
